As the head of a medieval monastery, the goal of the players is to assemble the greatest book collection and build the most famous library. To that end, they will need to acquire the necessary pigments for decorative lettering, hire the best copyists and reproduce the most precious works
But they have only a limited amount of gold at their disposal. The trick is to part with items in their collection at the right time and to pay the lowest price for works others want as well. Finally, players must watch out for the bishops, who can ruin their plans on a whim
The object of the cardgame Biblios is to score the most victory points, by claiming victory in 5 categories. Players win a category by having the highest total number of workers or resources from that category. At the start of the game, each category is worth 3 victory points, but as the game progresses, those values can change
Biblios is divided into 2 stages. First, players take turns to ditribute cards to all players and an auction pile. When all cards have been dealt, then the aucton phase starts, in which players have to bid for the cards on offer.
After the auction sfase, the winners of each category are determined and gain their victory points. The player with the most points wins the game
